Reflecting On the Chin Hairs of Life

This is it!

The last days of the year are upon us. 🎉 🎊

But if there's a ritual that perplexes me, it's New Year's resolutions: Why wait for an arbitrary date to be more awesome? (*scratches head*)

(What's less sexy than thumb-twiddling until Jan. 1 to be more awesome? I'm hard-pressed to think of something, and I can think of some really unsexy things: roadkill, dental plaque, female chin hairs, man's khakis with a beeper on the belt loop, and intestinal parasites. Just spitballing here.)

Anyway...

There's a sexy (read: fast, powerful, fun) alternative to New Year's resolutions that doesn't start with "stuff to start doing on Jan. 1."

It starts with 3 questions. Today.

Now, if you're like, "Gahhhhd, Meghan. Just let me live my holidays in peace." Uh, nope. You didn't sign up for my community to have me ignore you.

While you may want to say a big, ol' “Buh BYE 2018!!” I’m here to say, “Not so fast.” Because there's just a lot of un-leveraged wisdom (beautiful, wondrous things...plus your fair share of "chin hairs of life") to be mined from the past twelve months of your life, :

  • Uncelebrated wins

  • Hard-won lessons you’d be wise not to repeat #makebettermistakes

  • And, some negative emotional patterns that you're ready to discard

Which brings me to this li'l goodie: a simple year in review ritual (for busy midlifers like you!)...that’s ideal to do right now...before the holiday craziness takes over.

All you need is your calendar and 10 minutes, . This process is fast, powerful, and fun to do (#sexy). Here goes:

  1. One thing you did this year that you’re proud of?

  2. One mistake you made and the lesson you’ve learned?

  3. One limiting story you’re ready to let go of before 2019?

These 3 simple questions help me mine what I’ve learned (such as, "It's absolutely a great idea to throw yourself your own milestone birthday party"), and help clear my mental and emotional decks in preparation for a faaaantastic 2019. I know they can offer the same benefit for you!

Go git'er. You’ll be so glad you did!
