Aging, Lessons Learned, and What Level Are You?
I’m writing you from my family's lake home, where I'm staring at the deck umbrella that's bent perpendicular and cannot be restored. It was one of those "accidentally left the umbrella open during a storm" moments by a family member. Oops.
That broken umbrella then made me think of my knee pain. Too much weight lifting? Not enough post-volleyball stretching? A more serious injury? Aging?
You know how our minds can run with a diagnosis before we even think of scheduling that appointment with the doctor. I'm pretty good at it. Not as good as some family members, though. ;)
While I wait to see if I need to amputate my knee at the leg, I reflected on the last year (I turned 41 a few weeks back). And wouldn't ya know I learned a thing or two. #growthmindset
Check out my latest piece: The 3 Biggest Lessons of my 40th Year.
Hope you likey. And if you do, please share it (Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram...any is great).

P.S. Earlier this week, I bought sunscreen from Acure and the packaging said "age performance." This made me do a double-take. "Age performance"? I like it. Let's turn the damn page on "anti-aging" as though that's a bad thing. Nice work, Acure. I'll be buying more of your stuff.
While I'm on the subject of age, this just in: I hereby declare "level" is the new "year." In other words, my 96-year-old Grandma has reached level 96. Sounds pretty kick-ass, right? You're welcome.
