As midlifers, one of our emerging strengths is to be able to have a greater perspective about what matters most. The research certainly reflects this. But it’s also nice to hear that the muck you’ve experienced wasn’t all for show, either, right?

Nevertheless, since we know there’s a palpable dip in satisfaction during your 40s--give or take a few years--it’s helpful to be more proactive about cultivating your ability to take perspective. Because without help giving context to the content of our lives, most of us ignore or misuse what’s going on in our mind and lack the tools to use it purposefully or channel our resources accordingly.

Join me on the podcast this week to discover the power of actively taking perspective...specifically, the value of it and a brief intro into how to do it in a way that feels less like a “should” and more like a “could.” By now, you’ve spent decades building up all sorts of thoughts and feelings and behaviors. This is a foundational step in self-coaching, and I know that integrating it into your life will be transformational, too.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE

  • How our circumstances and perspective differ...and why this is so important
