01: The Truth About Midlife
Welcome to Bullshift…the podcast for every person aged 35-55 who wonders, “Is this as good as life gets?”
Bullshift teaches you how to apply coaching psychology, early midlife insights, and the art and science of a meaningful life to transform this life phase into a period of creativity and growth.
We spend nearly half our adult lives in some type of transition. This show is about making all that time more satisfying.
As a national board-certified wellbeing and lifestyle medicine coach, a modern midlife maven, and the Chief Bullshifter, my goal is to provide experience-grounded, science-based, accessible and actionable resources to help you make the most of this time in your life. Think of it as part coaching manual, part memoir, part meditation.
Midlife is an oft stereotyped, more oft misunderstood but ultimately transformative, rich and wonderful part of life...if we’re open to it and we do some work.
Bullshift examines our outwardly comfortable but often unsatisfactory midlives.
The “midlife funk” is real. But it’s likely not a crisis. It isn’t fate. And it doesn’t require shelves of self-help books collecting dust.
If you struggle to prioritize your life around what’s really of value...
If you have a nagging awareness that something in your life is going unfulfilled…
If you’re spread too thin…
Or if you feel stuck…
This episode--this entire podcast--is for you.
WHAT YOU’LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE:

In this episode, Meghan discusses the questions we tend to ask ourselves as we approach the new calendar year. She explains that these are the questions for which purpose is the answer. Who we are today is not the same as who we were yesterday and who we’ll be tomorrow. Yet, paradoxically, we are exactly the same person we were yesterday and will be tomorrow. This is one of a few key paradoxes of purpose that Meghan explores in this episode. Sit back, enjoy the holiday feels, and join Meghan as she gives us a preview of where we’re going with Bullshift in 2022!
